Amy has jumped on board with Three29 recently as our new web and graphic designer!
She has a deep love of art, a mild obsession with boba tea, and a fun, energetic personality. We couldn’t wait to learn more about her passions, interests, and what ultimately led her to a career in graphic design.
Cooking Without a Recipe — Not only is this super fun but it also helps me to envision in my mind how the flavors will come together, and to really think about tasty food combinations. This allows me to exercise my creativity in terms of thinking outside of the box/rules!
Creating Personal Art/Sketches — This is important because it solidifies that I love what I do. It helps to constantly stay in touch with my roots in traditional art and really appreciate the amount of time and effort it takes to create an amazing masterpiece. Being able to express my crazy and silly ideas in my free time allows me to also channel that at work!
Talking to Loved Ones — I spend a lot of my free time laughing and getting crazy with my family and friends on the phone. It helps me to maintain relationships that I hold dear and allows me to be more present in their lives. Being able to be there for people that are important to you gives you the motivation to do more for them and for yourself (which is also very important when building work relationships)!
2 Fundamental Strengths
Empathy — I love being an active listener, getting to know people, asking lots of questions, and hearing personal stories. Being able to emotionally understand and connect with people helps me as an artist and graphic designer to address and create visual solutions for clients.
CooCoo for Fruit Loops! (aka. Crazy & Colorful) — Well my craziness definitely keeps me creatively outside of the box. There are a lot of ideas up in this brain and I am able to get inspiration from everyday things that don’t relate to graphic design. I am also crazy for colors and really love mixing and matching color schemes

Amy’s Go-To Resources for Industry News
Muzli Inspiration by InVision — This is set to be the first thing I see when I open my browser. It’s amazing because they list a lot of different things like design news, UI/UX interaction trends, design inspiration, funny animated gifs, cool web page layouts, etc. It’s just a mix of so many things that are not all design-related to get your creative cogs going!
Pinterest — There are just so many cool things on here! I usually go to pinterest for site inspiration because they have a wide variety of posts and it’s easy to scroll through but they also have lots of artwork from artists that really make you feel inspired! It’s also fun to look at all the food illustrations!
Amy’s Must-Have Apps
Instagram — It’s like second nature to go on Instagram to look at all the new art that my favorite artists are creating! It’s also a great way to keep up with artist trends and seeing the variety of styles that are out there. It helps inspire me to play more with my techniques and use of color in my personal art.
Stamp Calendar — I use this a lot to keep track of my schedule and luckily there is a widget that shows up so I can see the full calendar very easily! It’s so fun to use because you can also customize with cute stickers so I don’t need to type in what is happening that day!
Slack — This app is super convenient and easy to use and helps me stay connected at work. There are times where I am not looking at my computer so I can easily send messages and give updates to team members.
I have a lot of colorful pens and highlighters to keep my desk (which is also my dinner table) and design sketches bright and exciting!
Definitely have lots of papers to sketch on to track all my design ideas. I also need to have a massive bottle of water next to me because hydration is very important and there is also a bowl of matcha tea that I drink throughout the morning.
Also cannot forget the snacks! Snacks are important to keep those creative juices flowing!
